questions you may have before you arrive...
What time should I arrive?
Our gatherings typically start right on time, so we recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early. This gives you time to grab a coffee, check kids in for One Harbor Kids, and find a seat before worship begins.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. You’ll see people in jeans, shorts, t-shirts, button-ups, UNC polos, Duke polos, ECU polos, and more :) We’re a relaxed coastal community, and we care far more about your how you might be doing as you walk in the door than what you wear.
What's the music like?
We love to sing! Our worship is modern, passionate, and focused on Jesus. Expect a full band and songs that remind us of God’s grace and truth. We sing hymns, modern songs, heritage songs from the 70's and 80's, and even songs written by our musicians and pastors.
What happens during a typical service?
Each gathering lasts about 75 minutes. We sing together, listen to teaching from the Bible, pray, take communion, enjoy family moments together, and share ways to get involved through various events and smaller gatherings. You’ll also hear lots of stories about what God is doing in our church, our communities, and around the world.
Is there something for my kids?
Absolutely. One Harbor Kids families with babies through 5th grade in a safe, fun, and gospel-centered environment. Our volunteers are background-checked and love helping kids know and enjoy Jesus.
Do you have something for older students?
Yes! Middle and high school students connect through One Harbor Youth. They at various times throughout the month for worship, teaching, and small groups. It’s a great place for teens to grow in their faith with a community of their peers.
Will I be singled out as a visitor?
Nope. You’ll be welcomed warmly as you arrive, but never put on the spot. We won’t ask you to stand up or introduce yourself. We’d love for you to stop by the Connect Table after the service if you want to say hi or ask questions.
What do you believe as a church?
We are a gospel-centered church that exists to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus. Everything we do—from Sunday gatherings to community groups—is rooted in the good news of Jesus Christ. To learn more, check out our beliefs.
Does anything happen outside of weekend gatherings?
Lots! The best next step is to join an upcoming First Steps lunch. First Steps allows you the opportunity to hear about our story, our mission, what we believe, and an opportunity to meet others who are checking out One Harbor. Go to the Connect Table after a service to learn more about the next First Steps lunch.
